Our photographs tell us what is important to us.

Our photographs tell us what is important to us. When you ask people what possessions they would rescue from their burning home, the most frequent answers is the photograph albums or a computer with their digital images. When in panic mode it’s interesting that we would grab photographs rather than valuable jewelry. This impulse to save our recorded memories is a powerful force which tells us much about the role of photography in our lives and our constant desire to have our most precious moments. If you remember, which I KNOW you do . On the TV show ” This is Us”, what did Jack go back in for?

 The photo album.

This little gem of a photo I found in my old computer. This is my 17-year-old daughter. She use to eat shell’s she found on Captiva Island as well as the beaches of Monmouth County. I know, GROSS. But the point Is. Look at her face and look at the memory it just brought back for me.

Part of our legacy are the photograph’s we leave behind.

Photographs matter! Because they freeze moments of our lives which happen to go so fast. The significance, however, may be for others who search for the person we once were. Or the places we once knew. They can be small pieces of a jigsaw that complete the larger picture of our lives. What if one day my little girl’s grandchildren find this online?

Could you imagine that?
